It's harder on you than it is on them

When you take your kid to the doctor's and they get a shot and cry, the doctor always says it hurts you more than it hurts them. While this is true, it doesn't just apply to shots. In fact, it applies to pretty much every aspect of your child's life. Tonight is the first night I put him to sleep in his crib. Now on the surface this doesn't seem like a big deal, some kids even start out sleeping in their crib and never sleep in a bassinet. But for me this is apparently a highly emotional experience. The past 2 nights I've been waking up to find he's pushed himself up to the edge of the bassinet so I know that's a pretty good indicator he's ready for his crib but while he may be (he's sleeping peacefully at the moment) Mommy apparently is not. For all my talk about how I don't like the newborn stage and how I can't wait for him to get older, part of me still wants him to be the adorable little mush he currently is. In a way him moving t...

Weekly Recap

It's Tuesday so you know what that means, it's reset day! Er, I mean, time for a look back at the previous week's shenanigans! Well to begin I'm happy to say my first week back at work went well. It's frightening how quickly everything came back to me, the only thing that slowed my down that first day was my password for the register which took all of about 2 minutes to remember but otherwise I may be a little slow until I fully hit my stride again but I wiped the floor with nearly everyone's butt on commission so yeah, mama's back baby time to make that moolah! It's funny, I was talking to my store manager and she was telling me about all the nonsense that went down while I was away and one thing she told me was one of our part time managers said "Oh Kim's coming back, looks like we won't get any hours." Excuse me what? For anyone who hasn't worked retail, in most cases hours are based off sales so if you're a strong sell...

The light at the end of the tunnel might be a train

Nothing like some dark humor to start a blog right? This is gonna be good. I've been meaning to write this blog post for a while but life kinda happened so hey, better late than never right? I am gonna try to update at least once a week going forward though so yay content, but let's get back up to speed shall we? Well as anti-climatic as this may be things have been pretty quiet. Munchkin has been sleeping through the night for a couple weeks now which is absolutely lovely. He usually eats at about 9pm and then goes down until 5:30 or 6am! Then he eats and goes back down for another 2.5, 3 hours. Needless to say, Momma is very happy with this and hopes it continues! It seems like things are starting to level out which makes my brain happy cause now there's a more solid flow to the days, obviously there's still some variation, but it's getting to be more predictable. The big highlight since last post is that this past Sunday he was baptized. Now I'm not a b...
